Key Stages describe the different stages of a student’s education in England. KS1 is Years 1–2, KS2 is Years 3–6, KS3 is Years 7–9, KS4 is Years 10–11 and KS5 is Years 12–13, commonly used to describe sixth-form study. Tuition should become progressively more specialised as students move through these stages.
Which subjects does Dominis support across the Key Stages?
Depending on the student’s year group, Dominis can provide support in English, Maths, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Economics, Business and Psychology, as well as areas such as Creative Writing, Comprehension, Reasoning and Coding. Subject availability may vary by year group and programme.
Is tuition matched to my child’s year group and curriculum?
Yes. Teaching is planned according to the student’s year group, current level, school curriculum, subject, learning gaps and academic goals. For examination years, tuition can also be aligned with the relevant exam specification.
Can Dominis help if my child is falling behind at school?
Yes. We can identify areas where the student needs additional support and focus on core concepts, weak topics, homework difficulties, school assessments, confidence and independent practice. The objective is to strengthen gaps before they become larger problems.
Can you support students who are already working above their year level?
Yes. Students who are already performing strongly can receive additional challenge through advanced questions, problem solving, higher-level reading, deeper subject knowledge and exam-style practice. Support is adapted to the student’s current ability rather than simply repeating work they already understand.
How does tuition change from KS1 to KS5?
KS1 focuses on strong early foundations in literacy, numeracy and confidence. KS2 develops core English and Maths skills while supporting SATs and preparation for secondary education. KS3 strengthens subject knowledge for increasingly demanding secondary-school work. KS4 becomes more examination-focused, particularly for GCSE and IGCSE. KS5 focuses on advanced subject knowledge, independent study, mocks, past papers and AS/A Level preparation.
Do you provide assessment and progress tracking?
Yes. Progress may be monitored through topic questions, homework, assignments, weekly assessments, monthly mini-mocks and exam-style questions. This helps identify what is secure, what needs improvement and what should be taught next. Parents can also receive academic feedback on their child’s progress.
Do you offer both 1-to-1 and small-group Key Stage tuition?
Yes. 1-to-1 tuition suits personalised support, individual pacing and targeted weak-topic intervention. Small-group tuition suits students who benefit from structured teaching, guided practice and interactive learning. Our Academic Support Team can help parents decide which format may suit their child.
Do you provide exam preparation at different Key Stages?
Yes. Depending on the student’s stage, preparation may include SATs at KS2, GCSE / IGCSE at KS4 and AS Level / A Level at KS5. Support can include revision, mock exams, past papers, exam technique, time management and weak-topic practice.
Can my child book a free Key Stage tuition demo?
Yes. Parents can book a FREE demo session to discuss the year group, subject, current academic level, school curriculum, weak areas, academic goals and preferred learning format.
